These Terms of Use (Terms) govern your access to and use of the MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd website at https://meterx.co.za (the Site). By using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to the public Site only. Access to the MeterX client portal, APIs and platform services is governed by a separate written services agreement between MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd and the client.

2. No professional advice

Content on the Site — including tariff references, billing illustrations, technical descriptions and regulatory commentary — is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal, financial, engineering or regulatory advice. Real-world application of tariffs and regulation depends on facts we cannot know without engaging you directly.

3. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, the MeterX name and mark, software and the underlying arrangement of the Site, is owned by or licensed to MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd and is protected by South African and international copyright and trade-mark laws. You may view and reproduce Site content for personal, non-commercial reference only. Any other use — including bulk download, scraping, republication or use in commercial materials — requires our prior written consent.

4. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party resources. MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any third-party site.

5. Disclaimer

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defect will be corrected.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify MeterX Online (Pty) Ltd against any claim, loss or cost arising from your misuse of the Site or your breach of these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You may not:

• use the Site in violation of any applicable law;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the Site, the MeterX platform, or related infrastructure;
• introduce malicious code, conduct load or security testing without our prior written permission;
• scrape or bulk-download content without authorisation.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
